Maurizio Conti
Design & Manufacturing Director
Maurizio Conti is a global reference in bespoke private cinema design and a recognised authority in solving complex challenges at the intersection of acoustic engineering and interior architecture.
With over 40 years of experience and hundreds of private cinemas delivered worldwide, Maurizio has built his career around a singular mission: transforming technically demanding spaces into refined, high-performance environments where architectural vision, acoustic precision, and emotional impact coexist seamlessly.
After an early career as a freelance consultant, he founded AVD Audio Video Design in the late 1980s, followed by HTE—now Officina Acustica—in 2005. This evolution was driven by the structural limitations of conventional cinema construction, where fragmented responsibilities and inconsistent methodologies frequently resulted in compromised sound quality, misaligned design intent, and costly project delays.
In response, Maurizio developed a proprietary, fully engineered construction methodology that unifies acoustic science, manufacturing precision, and architectural execution into a single, controlled process. His approach delivers predictable results, repeatable quality, and measurable performance—bridging the traditional gap between creative design and technical reality, and enabling ambitious interior concepts to be realized without compromise.
His work has been commissioned by some of the world’s most discerning private clients and delivered internationally, from Europe to award-winning residences in Australia. Each project reflects a disciplined methodology grounded in acoustic accuracy, factory-controlled production, and on-site constructability—earning a reputation for discretion, reliability, uncompromising performance, and design integrity.
Based near Vicenza, Italy, and operating in close connection with manufacturing, Maurizio combines Italian design sensibility with deep technical mastery and a rare problem-solving mindset. He is widely recognized for his ability to translate visionary interiors into acoustically perfected spaces, ensuring that aesthetics and performance exist in perfect balance.
His environments are defined not only by engineering excellence, but by experience. Each room is conceived as a holistic composition—where sound, space, materials, and light are carefully orchestrated to create emotionally resonant environments that captivate both eye and ear.
Maurizio is the founder and first President of CEDIA Italy and continues to contribute to the advancement of the industry through international standards working groups. Today, his work defines the benchmark for luxury private cinema design and construction worldwide—setting a new standard for how performance-driven spaces are conceived, built, and experienced.
