A private cinema is not a list of equipment. It is a building inside a building, defined by proportion, mass, structure, and the pursuit of silence.
We begin with architecture because it is the only honest starting point. We engineer the room as the instrument. Everything else is simply a component.
Cinema Buro creates reference-grade private cinemas where architecture, engineering, and craftsmanship exist as one. Born from the partnership between Cinema Lusso and Officina Acustica, we combine technical leadership with precision manufacturing.
Every space is engineered from first principles, built with absolute certainty, and certified to the highest standards of acoustic and visual excellence.
This is cinema as architecture: designed with restraint, crafted with mastery, and perfected through science.
The engineering is the design, and the design is the engineering. There is no boundary between the two, only rooms of exceptional beauty, emotional impact, and measurable performance.
We've challenged the status quo of engineering and design. We've written the book on it, and keep delivering the exceptional.
The room is designed as an instrument before a single component is chosen. Proportion, mass and structure set the ceiling for everything that follows.
A low noise floor is a design material. We control isolation, resonance and airflow so the only thing you hear is the film.
Every project is engineered to an agreed level, validated against objective metrics and certified before handover. No guesswork.
Our clients value their privacy, and we protect it completely. Our work isn't published online; we show it in person, at Foundry, to those we work with.
Aligned throughout to CEDIA RP22 / RP32, from first intentions to final calibration.
No two projects share a timeline. A larger commission typically runs 24 to 36 months, from the first conversation and laying down of intentions, through design, to a finished and certified room. A smaller, more contained project can complete in 3 to 6 months. What never changes is the sequence.
We hold the same discipline whether the engagement lasts a season or several years; every project moves through the same four phases, in the same order, at whatever pace the brief and the building demand. Nothing is built before it has been modelled, and nothing is signed off before it has been measured.
We establish intentions, define the performance target, and shape the architecture that can deliver it.
Acoustic and optical modelling from first principles, so the room is proven on paper before anything is built.
Precision manufacturing and reinforced joinery, built like a cinema, not a lounge, and documented as we go.
Objective measurement and certification, so the room performs exactly as promised, with a paper trail to prove it.
Foundry is our private demonstration studio, and the one place our work can be experienced before a single decision is made. It is a fully engineered reference cinema, built to the same standard we hold every commission to, so you can judge the result with your own eyes and ears rather than a portfolio you're asked to take on trust.
We don't publish our work. Serious clients experience it in person, at Foundry. Until then, the engineering speaks for itself.
"Our clients value their privacy, and so do we. You won't find their rooms online. You'll find the same standard we hold every project to, and an open invitation to hear it for yourself."
